Lectors

We all have been blessed with different gifts that we can dedicate to a ministry at Resurrection Parish.  If you have been blessed with a powerful or a pleasant voice or simply have the willingness to speak in front of others, please consider the Lector Ministry.  As a Lector, you are responsible for proclaiming God’s Word at weekly Saturday evening-Sunday morning Masses as well as on the various Holy Days throughout the liturgical year. The readings are provided in a workbook entitled Workbook for Lectors and Gospel Readers.  This workbook provides insights into the readings heard during Mass and is a great instrument for deepening your understanding of God’s Word. In order to sufficiently prepare for the proclamation of God’s Word and attend the Mass for which you’ve been scheduled, this ministry requires a time commitment of approximately 2 hours every 6 weeks. An initial training session of one hour is provided.
