The Model: This isn’t a typical classroom. It’s a "journey-based" model designed to move away from school-style lessons. The goal is experiential -- creating a space for your entire family to have a personal encounter with Jesus and helping build spiritual habits that last a lifetime.
Who Leads: You are the primary guide. The program empowers you to weave faith into your normal "rhythms," like car rides, mealtimes, or bedtime.
The Setting: We meet once a month at church for parent-to-parent faith discussion and relationship building. These sessions end with powerful and meaningful closing prayers with your children and as a community.
The Kids' Experience: Children are grouped by age level and explore the same topic as parents are learning through engaging activities, followed by family meetings at home that fit your specific lifestyle.
The Pathways of Faith uses two main series to help families grow closer to God and each other. By combining group learning with at-home resources, it turns faith into a daily family practice.
1. "Seek" Series (October & November)
Schedule: Meets four times across October and November.
Structure: Begins with the Sunday 8:45am Family Mass, followed by a 90-minute session.
Parents: Gather in the Community Room for small group discussions.
Children (PreK-4): Participate in separate, engaging VBS-style lessons.
Youth (Grades 5-8): Engage in lively, age-appropriate discussions and activities centered on the monthly theme.
2. "Root" Series (November through May)
Focus: Centers on the Creed, providing a deeper understanding of the proclamation of faith.
Schedule: Meets once a month on Sundays beginning with the 8:45am Mass followed by 90-minute sessions.
Format: Continues the structure of small group meetings for both parents and children, with themes tailored to be age appropriate.
Pathways of Faith At-Home Support
Curriculum Alignment: The same topics are taught at church and reinforced at home, ensuring consistency for all ages.
Resources: Families are provided with a "Faith at Home" box containing easy-to-follow parent guides, family activities, and prayers.
Flexibility: Parents can conduct the home sessions according to their own family schedule, supporting the development of a consistent, lifelong practice of faith.
Pathways of Faith Sacramental Program
First graders will begin preparing for the sacraments during their second year in Pathways. This family-centered program emphasizes hands-on learning both at home and at church. By using kits filled with tactile materials, we aim to renew "sacramental imagination" and empower parents in their role as the primary educators of their children. Throughout the school year, we host special events for second graders and their parents to prepare for First Reconciliation and First Eucharist. We also hold parental meetings to provide guidance on preparing your children at home. OF SPECIAL NOTE: All families with children from pre-K (age 4 and potty-trained) through 8th grade are invited to enroll in Pathways of Faith. Enrollment is automatic for all first-time families, as well as new families whose oldest child is entering 1st grade. To help us keep things consistent for the children and families, please note that we cannot accommodate changes to programs or time slots once the year begins. We appreciate you choosing the schedule that works best for your family!
